Moonlit Evenings

I meet your gaze across the garden
The moon glimmers in your eyes
The scent of lavender and roses fills the air
The din of music from the hall lingers on the wind
There is a slight chill outdoors
I think of how warm your body must be
How your hands on my waist would feel
What it would be like to twirl with you in this shrubbery maze
On this brightly lit evening
I look up and make a wish upon the stars
Take a chance upon the sky
Dance with me?
