Soft

Lying naked in my bed
Intertwining my fingers
One of these hands could be yours
Relishing my soft skin
But you’re out chasing other things
You thought were soft and warm
So, I’m here alone
Touching myself
Wondering what might have been
Enjoying what you threw away

  1. You know I need a new expression besides “OUCH” or “OW” or the like to convey the feeling of piercing pain that I often find here. But besides that, there is a wonderful sense of self-affirmation, even if borne from pain – while it IS bittersweet, the bitter is melting and the sweet is surfacing. Liked that transition.
